“Carved Up Place”
by
Aida Hasanovic

On Display October 2nd – November 7th

Carved Up Place is a solo exhibition featuring a series of work by Aida Hasanovic.  Using personal experiences and contemplation as a point of departure, Hasanovic brings together and manipulates her surroundings to create a new version of reality.  These photographs transform the human body and mundane objects by causing the viewer to question their position within the world around us.

Aida Hasanovic is a St. Louis based artist working primarily in photography and video. Her work explores abstraction and formality in our physical environments.  Her experience working and researching in physics, metaphysics, language, migration, and media all inform her practice. She has exhibited in local and national group shows in Columbia, St. Louis and New York City.  Most recently she served as a media intern at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis and as a digital content creator in New York City.
